HOT

It was another hot start. The heat and humidity are starting early here in Ridge. The more I see, the more that I am aware of the spiritual battle that is all around us. Things that are wrong are called right and what is right is called hateful and wrong. I did the same workout as yesterday. I drink water each lap of Woodlot. I did 9.22 in 2:22:15 for a 15:25 minute per mile pace with an average heart rate of 89 bpm with an elevation gain of 185 feet at 75 degrees and 85 percent humidity. It’s the last day of June. Anniversary getaway in two days, Lord willing. Have a blessed day!

First Day of Vacation

I woke up around 4:30. This seems a good time for the summer. It has been extremely hot here considering it’s still June. Even though it’s early, there seemed to be a lot of work activity. The slightly later start definitely makes a difference from dead quiet to normal. I did the three times Woodlot, plus a short out and back to the speed limit sign. I did 9.15 miles in 2:20:19 for a 15:20 minute per mile pace with an average heart rate of 91 bpm with an elevation gain of 179 feet at 74 degrees and 81 percent humidity. A nice quiet start so far.

Sunday/Monday

Sunday I did my usual figure eight plus. I did 8.86 miles in 2:44:13 for an 18:31 minute per mile pace with an average heart rate of 72 bpm with an elevation gain of 183 feet at 73 degrees and 89 percent humidity. I saw a few people out and around, but overall it was quiet.

Today, my last day of school— I did the Longwood Loop plus put the trash out doing 9.32 miles in 2:19:13 for a 14:56 minute per mile pace and heart rate of 91 bpm at with an elevation gain of 320 feet at 72 degrees and 89 percent humidity. I saw the dog walker on Kastal. I headed to school late, but made it in good season because of the scarcity of traffic. Looking forward to see what the Lord has in store for the summer. God bless!

Running on Empty

I mowed last night, and then a late night picking my brother in law Jon up at LaGuardia late. I saw my friend Arlem at the Middle Island SevenEleven while getting a coffee. It was really nice chatting with him. This morning I got up 10 minutes later to mimic sleeping in. I did the Medford/Randall Loop this morning doing approximately 9.2 miles at an approximately 14:50 minute per mile pace. My watch played up a bit. Have a blessed day!

Last Thursday

This school year has been very different. So many changes, but God has been faithful. The relationships at work have really been strengthened. I am at this moment where God wants me to be. This morning I did 3 times the Woodlot loop doing 9.15 in 2:12:50 for a 14:30 minute per mile pace with an average heart rate of 119 bpm with an elevation gain of 169 feet at 53 comfortable degrees and 89 percent humidity. Just blessed. Picking my brother in law up tonight from the airport.  God bless.

Comparatively Fast

I got out a bit earlier than usual this morning. I got back a few minutes earlier— it seemed as if I were moving quickly, but only in comparison to a slow Monday and Tuesday. I did 9.24 miles in 2:17:10 for a 14:50 minute per mile pace with an average heart rate of 134 bpm with an elevation gain of 301 feet at 56 degrees and 80 percent humidity. I was one car away from an accident today on Sunrise. God bless you!

Slow, but Not Bothered

I was just enjoying the quiet of this early summer morning. I was moving, but not so fast. Fortunately, the slower pace of life at the latter stage of the pandemic allows for less rush. I did the Medford/Randall/Woodlot loop doing 9.1 miles in 2:17:54 for a 15:08 minute per mile pace with an average heart rate of 163 bpm with an elevation gain of 133 feet at 71 degrees and 84 percent humidity. Yesterday, Inie Seguin passed away. I have nothing, but admiration and sweet memories of this special lady! She’s with Jesus now. May the world know Him!

In A Fog

This morning I seemed to be just a bit behind. This pandemic year, I’ve learned to relax a bit more when behind. I wasn’t so nice to my wife, so I apologized. Anyway. I saw a guy and his girlfriend or wife pushing their car through the intersection on Ridge/ Middle County— so I helped out. Lord, provided me with the opportunity. I did the Longwood Loop doing 9.28 miles in 2:20:43 for a 15:09 minute per mile pace with an average heart rate of 99 bpm with an elevation gain of 323 feet at 70 degrees and 92 percent humidity. I was definitely feeling tired. One more week of school. God bless you!

Another Beauty— Looking forward to the Weekend

I have been a bit tired this week— both energy wise and muscle wise. My reps in the bench press have gone down from 4 to 3. I did the Woodlot/Ridge/Randall Route doing 9.35 miles in 2:14:22 for a 14:22 minute per mile pace with an average heart rate of 141 bpm. Not sure of the elevation gain. Temp was at 57 degrees and 85 percent humidity. It was an ideal weather day. So grateful for the opportunities that the Lord gives me each day! God bless!

Fall In Spring

The temp was cooler than usual, but it felt good. I did the Longwood Loop going fully on Longwood. I did 9.23 miles in 2:15:14 for a 14:39 minute per mile pace with an average heart rate of 166 bpm with an elevation gain of 314 feet at 51 degrees and 76 percent humidity. I was a little behind schedule, but things are going okay. Just learned that one of our teachers passed away. This has been a year of death. Looking to you Heavenly Father!

Saturday/Sunday Monday/Tuesday

When you travel, you never are sure of the opportunities that you will get— so I went on walks on the weekend and fortunately had a couple of nice walks in Hardeeville, South Carolina. Each day was fairly warm, even on Long Island. In Hardeeville, based on my first impression, I wasn’t sure if I could get much of a workout in— but faith is doing something, being willing to try, and believing that it will all workout.

Saturday— Greenway Trail-7.46 miles in 2:17:56 for a 18:29 minute per mile pace with an average heart rate of 76 bpm with an elevation gain of 500 feet at 84 degrees and 52 percent humidity.

Sunday- The neighborhood figure eight- 8.73 miles in 2:44:19 for a 18:48 minute per mile pace with an average heart rate of 72 bpm with an elevation gain of 161 feet at 70 degrees and 80 percent humidity.

Monday Hardeeville, SC: I did 8.6 miles in 2:45:43 for a 19:16 minute per mile pace with an average heart rate of 74 bpm with an elevation gain of 14 feet at 79 degrees and 92 percent humidity.

Tuesday in Hardeeville, SC: I got out early today because of my needing to be at the funeral home at 10 am in Beaufort, SC. I did 8.08 miles in 2:33:03 for an 18:56 minute per mile pace and heart rate of 73 bpm with an elevation gain of 52 feet thereabouts at 74 degrees and 97 percent humidity. It rained some before and some during the time. The police car was in front of my motel both days.

It was a surprising good time of workouts. I didn’t feel rushed, and I enjoyed myself. A gentleman even brought me out a cold bottle of water. I did a lot of loops, saw some pretty spots and enjoyed the deep south. In the Savannah, Georgia airport now , waiting for my flight to Baltimore and then to Islip. God is so good. Glad that I went to my Uncles funeral.

Foggy

I headed out the door, plotting in my head to try to get some semblance of a workout schedule for next week with all the travel. I think I have a plan ready. I’ve had an annoying air bubble in my right ear for quite some time. Don’t feel like pursuing it much with my doctor, but it is annoying and praying that it doesn’t bother me in the air flying. This morning I did my previous standard workout doing Woodlot, Ridge, Ryan 2 x, and Randall. I did 9.34 miles in 2:18:51 for a 14:51 minute per mile pace and heart rate of 157 bpm with an elevation gain of 179 feet at 64 degrees and 94 percent humidity. Have a blessed day!

Changes

I woke up this morning, feeling slightly more recharged thanks to a little more sleep. I decided on the Ridge Loop doing 9.37 miles in 2:15:59 for a 14:30 minute per mile pace with an average heart rate of 103 bpm with an elevation gain of 212 feet at 58 degrees and 91 percent humidity. I am looking to go to South Carolina to my Uncle Charles funeral. I know God will use me. God bless you!

Behind

I had problems with my watch— somehow recording 4 different workouts during the one workout. So the data is approximated- I did 9.3 miles in approximately 2:17 for a 14:45 minute per mile pace with an average heart rate of 120 bpm with an elevation gain of 200 feet at 58 degrees and 79 percent humidity. I got back late. Made it to work on time. Weird, but I’ll take it. God bless!

Monday/Tuesday

Monday was Memorial Day, also the last day of May. My Uncle Charles passed away today and my father is sick again. Jace was away the whole weekend which was a blessing. A chance to rest and bond again with Charlotte. Monday I did the Longwood Loop with no running at all— 9.37 miles in 2:22:58 for a 15:15 minute per mile pace with an average heart rate of 100 bpm with an elevation gain of 327 feet at 48 degrees and 94 percent humidity. Today I did 9.17 miles in 2:15:40 for a 14:48 minute per mile pace with an average heart rate of 160 bpm with an elevation gain of 144 feet at 51 degrees and 86 percent humidity. I did the Medford/Randall route since it keeps away from the dig walker at the end of my workout. Call me anti-social, but I don’t want this guy in my lane at the end of my workout. Looking to the Lord for His help, guidance, healing, and encouragement! God bless you today!
