Tuesday Trial

I was interested to see how my body would react after a trying day yesterday. My body does not handle the heat and humidity very well. Hydration and taking it easy seem to be the key.  I did the Longwood loop— I was just interested in how my body would react. I did okay— although I am tired now. I did 9.56 miles in 2:21:22 for a 14:46 minute per mile pace with an elevation gain of 321 feet with an average heart rate of 121 bpm at 72 degrees and 89 percent humidity. I’m blessed. Seeing a walker ahead of me helped pull my pace out of the dull drums.

Day 1

Summer vacation begins. I did the Randall Road Loop. It was a very humid morning and I got off to a late start. I had to hav my blood drawn , so I was s bit hurried. When I had my blood drawn, they could not get blood out. They brought in their blood specialist to extract the sample. She apologized before beginning. After a bit, I told her that I felt light headed. She called people in and I was out. Fortunately, I was ok after 5 minutes or so. I then dropped my computer off at the school. On my way home , I got a ticket— fortunately, not a speeding ticket. Now for the stats — 9.48 miles in 2:19:52 for a 14:45 minute per mile pace with a 199 -foot elevation gain and a 120 bpm heart rate at 69 degrees and 93 percent humidity. So grateful— have a blessed day!

Not bad...for a Friday

I left the house this morning with little expectations.  I was just happy and blessed to be getting the workout in.  I decided to do the Longwood Loop again, and I did another variation of it. I change things ever so slightly just to keep my interest up.  I did 9.43 miles in 2:20:41 for a 14:55 minute per mile pace with a 334-foot elevation gain with an average heart rate of 116 bpm at 66 degrees and 97 % humidity. Blood work and graduation pics tomorrow.  I'm blessed and may God bless you!

Thursday on Fumes

My motivation is in the holding essential mode. I have what I have to get the objective done, and that's about it.  Fortunately, I have been able to stay under 15's(which use to seem slow). i did my newish Woodlot/Ridge/Randall Loop doing 9.44 miles in 2:20:48 for a 14:54 minute per mile pace with a 193-foot elevation gain with a 123 bpm average heart rate at 62 degrees and a steamy 98 % humidity. Some construction on Randall.  I got kind of sick of doing the Longwood Loop and seeing the same old faces out there --so I switched it up.  Have a blessed day. 3 more school days!

Started Down

I headed out the door cautious of a minor complaint that I felt yesterday morning on my hike.  It was only a minor twinge, but it was a similar twinge to what I experienced on my other leg when I had an extended time off from my walks. I took ibuprofen, used CBD cream, and did stretching. My main strategy is to lay off from my hex bar deadlifts and replace them with weighted wall squats.  I am grateful that today, caution seems to be aiding the healing.  I will continue to stay this course.  Maybe, deadlifts can be added on the weekend workout only.  I find with age, I have to back off in the short run to enable the long term objective. Here are the stats--I did 9.47 miles in 2:20:37 for a 14:50 minute per mile pace with an average heart rate of 118 bpm with an elevation gain of 379 feet at a temp of 45 degrees and 72 % humidity.

These are difficult times.  God's people need to get on their knees and seek His face. God Bless you!
