Here are the mileages --8.72-8.73-8.70-8.71.  The paces ranged around 13:30 ish pace.  A lot going on this week including a missing daughter for over 24 hours.  The Lord saw her home despite her foolishness. God is good always. God Bless You!

Longwood/Medford the Monday before Christmas

Today is the second shortest day of the year.  I finally had a good night's sleep on Sunday night with the past two Sunday's featuring 2 hours or less of sleep.  I decided not to take my Mega Man Green's supplements as it contains a stimulant which on a non-workout day I think keeps me awake. I woke up late and got out at 4:37 am.  I did have a decent pace doing 8.58 miles in 1:52:50 for a 13:09 minute per mile walking pace. I was fortunate that even with the late start I managed to make up the time and keep to my usual schedule.  I am just grateful for a good start to the week. Have a blessed day--God is good!

Medford/Randall/Woodlot

I did 8.67 miles in 2:02:11on the Route listed above.  About 6 deer jumped the fence at Leisure Knoll on Whiskey Road.  I had a good night's sleep, but once again the bed felt oh so comfortable.  I rolled out of bed and downed the cup of Starbucks coffee that my wife bought me last night.  I was tired ,but not exhausted.  The workout was neither a drudgery nor a joy--but I am grateful to get the workout in.  My weight was at 194.2 which is down 5 or 6 pounds from the late summer months and early school year.  My wife, Kimi, Jace and I are headed to stay in the City tonight after work.  Have a blessed day my friend.

From Snoozer to Trainer

I did 8.68 miles in 2:00:29 seconds doing the Longwooe/Medford  Loop on a drizzly 48 degree morning.  I felt so comfortable in my bed/but the thoughts of how good I feel following the workout got me out of bed and into my workout cloths.  It has been a good week so far--looking to the Lord!
Have a blessed day!

Randall on a Wednesday

I went out at 4:18 and did 8.68 miles in 1:58:11 for a 13:41 minute per mile walking pace in 45 degree temps.I felt alright as I glided along the roads of Ridge under star-lit skies. I enjoy the Christmas lights this time of year.  I commit the day to the Lord as I pound the pavement--trusting Him with the many things going on in my life. I just always feel blessed when I workout in the early morning hours. God Bless You!

The New Old Standy Route

I did 8.66 miles in 2:00:17 for a 13:55 ish pace per mile.  I did the figure eight plus extra loop again.  Seems as if I do this loop often around Christmas as my standby workout.I got a decent night's sleep last night.  Praying that my wife and family feel better today from their colds.  Need direction and courage from the Lord--He always works and supplies.
Can't help but to think of the folks back in Eastport and Pleasant Point where I lived for 23 years. Far in distance, but always close to my heart.  God definitely has me here on Long Island at his time. Well, time to go --God Bless!

The Middle of the Night Workout

I had the typical Sunday night's poor sleep.  At 2:30 I just decided to get up and go and then go back to bed for what little sleep I could find.  I did the figure 8 extra loop seeing all the sights and sounds of 2:39 am.  I spooked a bunch of deer and even passed by a car with someone sleeping in the back--Oh, New York!  I did 8.5 miles in 1:50:25 for a 13:00 minute per mile walking pace--very respectable. The events in life keep happening , but so does God's provision.  Have a blessed day!

Medford/Randall/Woodlot

I got out at 4:22 am in 43 degree weather to do the Randall Loop.  It was a foggy morning and in spite of the 5 hour energy and coffee, I still just survived the workout.  Life is tiring me out right now. It was very foggy and gloomy.  I did 8.69 miles in 2:03:50 for a pedestrian 14:15 minute per mile pace.  Despite problems I am blessd and God Bless you!

Medford/Randall/Woodlot

I did 8.67 miles in 2:01:04 in balmy 55 degree temperatures.  My garmin was acting up a bit giving me an extra mile on my workout for some odd reason.  It was so dark again.  I am looking forward to gaining the daylight back.  Garmin watch is running on 9% so this will be a nervous day:). Have to wait until 7 to recharge. Have a blessed day!

Better Effort

It was a seasonable 32 degrees as I got out at 4:20 am on the Randall Extra Plus Workout.  It was another dark and quiet workout. I only heard a few deer rustling through the woods on Whiskey Road.  I felt somewhat refreshed after a decent night's sleep.  My initial feeling upon waking was to go back to bed--but habit takes control and I start my morning routine which fades away the desire to go to bed.  I did 8.65 miles in 1:59:20 for a 13:47 minute per mile walking pace.
I am feeling like things in life are better.  It has been a tough stretch, but the Lord has blessed me with good health.  It just seems that life is too busy right now.  Oh well, don't mean to complain.  Counting down the days until the Christmas break. May God Bless You. On a parting note--I am so glad that my daughter Kim is enjoying school here in Ridge. To Him be the glory!

Grandpa Games

I have been tired which has been reflected by my walking paces the last couple of weeks.  I did 8.62 miles in 2:04:21 for a 14:26 minute per mile walking pace.  It is so dark this time of year and the cloud cover this morning just added to it.  The Christmas lights definitely make the journey more pleasant.  A much better night's sleep.  God Bless !

Ditto Last Sunday Night

I had another terrible night's sleep last Sunday night.  I did get in a decent 8.68 mile workout in 2:01:41 for a 14:01 minutes per mile walking pace on the Randall Plus Extra loop.  I saw a runner scurrying along on Whiskey Road near Leisure Village.  Have a blessed day!

More Like It

I got out at 4:19 am and had a much better pace on this day.  I woke up in the middle of the night with my throat burning--think the orange juice irritated my stomach causing me to bring up stomach acid, an awful feeling.  My wife is stressed with the business of being home while I am 50 miles away all day at work. I feel bad because it just seems that we are so busy that our time together is suffering.  This said, I felt guilty heading out this morning.
I did the Medford/Randall/Woodlot workout for 8.63 miles in 1:55:08 for a 13:20 per mile walking pace.  The workout is completely in the dark now with just a glimmer of light at the end.  Street lights make this workout possible.  Did a couple of sets of bench presses last night and a couple this morning.  Just need one set tonight.  Good news--Kim starts school next week.  Have a blessed day!

Tortoise

I got out at 4:21 am into a mild 52 degree start.  I did the Randall Plus extra for 8.68 miles in 2:06:31 for a pedestrian 14:35 minutes per mile pace. This is the week for just getting the work done with lower expectations.  There was a nice breeze that progressed during my workout.  I was thinking to myself that my routes here are pretty and quiet enough in the early morning hours.  I prefer the milder falls and winters here for sure.  The beauty of Eastport is unmatched though.  My thoughts of Eastport now with the struggles of my daughters and the seemingly greater negative influences is that I am glad to be here on Long Island.  My good thoughts of Eastport are all far in the past now and that's ok, because God is a God of the present.  Looking forward to the day--God Bless!

Walking in A Fog

I got out around 4:23 am in drizzle and fog.  I got home late as I had professional development and Bible study last night.  The result being --hurry, hurry and then bed time.  My times here in Ridge have been slow which is the way it goes sometimes.  This is three days in a row with the pace above 14 minutes per mile.  It just seems that I am a bit behind this week.  Oh well, I am blessed beyond measure.  I did 8.60 miles in 2:04:52 for 14:31 minutes per mile on the Longwood/Medford/Kastle loop.  45 degrees seemed warm this morning.  God Bless!

Catch Up

Here are the last five days of my training.  Thursday(11/26) 8.52 miles in 1:56:10 at a 13:39 pace, Friday--8.56 miles in 1:57:52 at 13:47 pace, Saturday--8.63 in 1:57:28 at a 13:37 pace, Monday(11/30) 8.63 in 2:03:05 at 14:16 pace, and Tuesday -- 8.62 in 2:03:20 at 14:18 pace.
I had good training in Maine as well as a good stay with my parents and daughters.  My grandson Keon is a true blessing and I enjoyed my time with him.  My new loop in Hope includes the Howe Hill road and is probably my favorite loop right now.  Lots going right now, but I am truly blessed.  Have a great day!
