A Maine Beautiful Weekend!

Saturday- I slept in and didn’t work out at all. I did however, mow my daughter’s lawn so I got in over 10 thousand steps. It was a busy day, but a productive and blessed day. Pizza from Freshies and mow a bit , hang, and leave at 8. Quick stop at Family Dollar and out to Harris Point. I had a wonderful night’s sleep.

Sunday- I did South end, dog Island, Adam’s Street and the loop down high and the new road off from County Road, stop at the bank, Dump Road, and back to Harris Point for 7.46 miles.

Monday- I did 6.51 miles doing a version of the Barnestown Loop and How Hill Road. I did 3 x core trainer and cable machine pull curls. I try to be dedicated to my workouts without being tied to them.

I had a great time Calais yesterday eating and shopping at Marden’s. I’m grateful for this time and the health!

Cutting Back a Bit

This morning I woke up a bit later and got out a bit later and went a bit shorter. I had a little mishap when I failed to clean the core trainer to my chest and dropped about 120 pounds on the cement floor and scraped my left side a bit. I warmed up so fortunately I didn’t get hurt more than a scrape. I ended up doing 2 x GP curls/presses and did 2 x Woodlot for 6.07 miles. I have a long trip in front of me after work. I’m hoping that I will refresh and be refreshed despite the lengthy traveling. Thank you Lord!

Longwood Backwards/2 x Woodlot/Woodlot Hill

Wednesday- I woke up early mistaking the time. I drank my coffee and just stayed the course. The early time allowed me to get ahead of my daily tasks. It ended up being a long tiring, yet productive day. I did the Longwood Loop backwards and added a little extra. I did 6.67 miles, the fab 40, 3 x GP curls/presses, and goblet squats. I mowed the lawn and took Ericka and a couple of granddaughters to get a shot. It was an early Go Burger Day.

Thursday- I intentionally cut back just a little to allow for rest for my long day tomorrow. I did 6.27 miles doing 2 x Woodlot and Woodlot Hill, plus a weighted bench press, 2 x GP bench press, and hex bar deadlifts. I may do the preacher carry later. Have a blessed day!

A Good Start

My life has been better since cutting back on my distance of my walks. My frequency has increased, but the length of my workouts has decreased. Because of this change, I have more enthusiasm and energy and make it to work on time. I did 6.49 miles on the reverse Longwood Loop, the fab 40, and 3 x GP bench presses. I hope to do a weighted bench press and a hinge movement later on today. I love the crisp morning air this time of year. Lord willing tonight I will begin packing for my Maine trip. Looking to the Lore!

Monday Haze

I went to a meet and greet with the stars of Napoleon Dynamite last night. That put me in bed a bit later. I have tried to be more flexible with my schedule, while at the same time maintaining a certain balance of social and rest. I really enjoyed the event. It was actually pretty good and not hokey. This morning I did 2 x Woodlot x Woodlot Hill for 6.25 miles. This allowed me to do a little extra before I left for school. With a trip to Maine, Lord willing in the cards, I am trying to cut back a bit alon with a rest day on Saturday. I also did 3 x GP curls/presses and hope to do goblet squats and core trainer presses later. Going to rest a bit. God bless!

Saturday/Sunday

Saturday: I did the Longwood Loop trying to get back before Charlotte made it home. I took it easy watching TV with Charlotte until she went back to her mom’s. I did the lawn and 3 sets of core trainer presses with one set of rows. I also did a set of goblet squats.

I did the longer version of the Longwood Loop doing 7.1 miles. I also did 4 sets of weighted bench presses and a set of hex bar deadlifts and shrugs. Things have been in flux around here. Things are good, but there are lots of little issues going around. Little, but not minor. The Lord is so good to me. I am learning to trust Him. Trust sometimes means acting when not acting would be easy.

Friday Consistency

I had a long day yesterday and Charlotte was staying at her parents’ while her father is in Florida. My wife is a thoughtful person who can be depended upon. I did my adopted new route of reverse Longwood. The slight drop in mileage definitely helps me to finish on time. My stomach has been off a bit this week. My schedule has also been in flux because that’s what school does to your schedule. I kick back in certain areas to preserve my strength. It’s alright to make adjustments so that I can be all that I can be. Today I did 6.49 miles, and the GP bench press and fab 40. I hope to do farmers carries , weighted bench press, and possibly hex bar deadlifts. Have a blessed day!

Birthday/Thursday

Wednesday- Today I turned 62. I was a little bit slow and a little bit behind in all aspects today. I was tired and just couldn’t quite catch up. I even ended up being a few minutes late for work. I did 6.69 miles, the fab 40 and 2 x 25 GP bench presses, and 3 x farmers walk.

Thursday- I shortened up my workout doing 6.26 miles and 3 x GP curls/presses. I am slower and have decided to cut back on my distance a little bit so that I am not so rushed. Little adjustments make for big improvements.

Back 2 It

I love the usual routine even though there are advantages to days off from school. I get up ridiculously early, but it is with a purpose and I love having the streets to myself and not having to walk as far. I love the time of prayer and solitude. I did the Longwood Loop doing on Niewood for 6.46 miles, 3 x GP curls/presses, and hope to do goblet squats and core trainer presses. I find that this routine provides the bedrock and foundation to my life with the guidance of my Lord! Last day at 61, Lord willing!

Day 2: Teaching

I had a good and productive day yesterday. I was able to get a good deal done at home as well as at school.  I had a good start to the day doing the Kastal/Randall loop with 2 x Ryan for 6.8 miles, and 3 x GP curls/presses, and hope to do core trainer presses, and goblet squats later. I have been focusing on just getting the basic things accomplished for the day. There are a good number of things that need accomplishing every day. Keeping the Lord first and being aware of His work is what I strive for with His help. I’m looking forward to Labor Day weekend, especially tomorrow. Have a blessed day friends!

First Day

Today I woke up at my usual school time and things went according to schedule. I got back in okay time and made it to school in plenty of time. I wasn’t super fast, but I did 6.69 doing the Longwood in Reverse. I then did the fab 40 and GP bench presses and 3 x farmers walk. I hope to do weighted bench presses and one set of hex lifts with shrugs. The he first day wasn’t too bad. It was busy without being too busy. Tomorrow is another day with the students and my first day teaching PE. I’m looking forward to having a regular type of day. Have a blessed day!

The Day Before…

Tomorrow I hope to enter my 40th year of teaching PE. I know others have taught longer, but for me this is a milestone. In August of 87 I began my first year of teaching in Eastport, Maine.  Lord willing , tomorrow on September 3, 2026 I begin another year. A lot has changed in those years and yet the job is the same. I went from teaching in a rural area, to an urban area in the suburbs of NYC. I started alone and now I am married to my second wife. I still am that small town Maine boy from Camden.

This morning I did the Longwood loop doing 6.46 miles, and 3 x GP curls/Presses, and hope to do Goblet Squats and core trainer presses. I am slowly getting back to my daily school routine. I will have to leave 10 minutes earlier tomorrow. Have a blessed day friends!

Limbo

Since I have arrived back to work from my trip to Finland, I have been trying to get the sense of routine and groundedness. I have been fine most mornings, but around 5 o’clock I just run out of gas. I find it hard in the mornings to get around like I would like. I did the hill workout of 8 x Raynor Hill plus for 6.31 miles, I did the fab 40, and 3 sets of GP bench presses. I hope to do either/and farmers walk and hex bar deadlifts. We are having grandkids and kids come over for supper tonight. God bless you!
