Side effects include headache, insomnia, and pains at night. I enjoyed my time in Maine, but pray that I get sorted. Going to visit Jace and Waylen for a few days in wester PA. Just want to get back to normal— please Lord may August be the time of gaining health and strength. God bless you all my blog friends!

Adapting

I woke up with a slightly better feeling for the day. I hate this heat and humidity, but somehow and ever do slightly, I found I am adapting to these conditions. Today I let off the gas a bit, to allow for more energy throughout the duration of the workout. I also reversed directions on my final and shortest lap. I didn’t see another soul save one lady walking away from SevenEleven on the opposite side of 25. I did 9.82 miles in 2:29:49 for a 15:15 minute per mile pace with an elevation gain of 246 feet with an average heart rate of 123 bpm at a humid 73 degrees and 93 percent humidity. I’m helping my father in law throw out junk from his house as he moves to a housing development. God bless you!

Survivor

I did the same loops as yesterday. This loop has advantages considering this oppressive weather spell that we’re experiencing. I did 9.82 miles in 2:25:18 for a 14:47 minute per mile pace with an elevation gain of 245-feet with an average heart rate of 123 bpm at 72 degrees with a steamy 96 percent humidity. One lady runner passed me on my second loop and I worked to stay ahead of the Spanish runner as he always tries to beat me. I am blessed to get the work in. Looking forward to cooler temps next week in Maine. God is good!

A Little Better

Today went better than I had planned. First, I got an earlier start than I had planned on. Secondly, it wasn’t as hot or humid. Thirdly, my mindset was good. I do better when I don’t see other folks out and about in which case I feel the need to “compete “. The series of loops actually was longer than I had planned. The positive to that is that my move goal on my watch should be completed during the morning sometime as opposed to just before bed time. I did the Ridge loop three times with the last time cutting across Kastal. Here are the stats— 9.88 miles in 2:28:59 for a 15:04 average  minute per mile pace with an elevation gain of 228-feet with an average heart rate of 117 bpm at 71 degrees and 84 percent humidity. It’s nice to work out again. I realize that the time in quarantine provided me with rest and recovery, which I definitely needed. Have a blessed day!

HOT and HUMID

It was 77 degrees before 5:30 this morning and as humid as all get out. I did the Woodlot loop 3 times, so that I could drink each lap to stay hydrated. I did 9.1 in 2:14:17 for a 14:45 minute per mile pace with an elevation gain of 176 feet and an average heart rate of 131 bpm at 77 degrees and 94 percent humidity. I’m tired now and am going to rest some. Have a blessed day!

Gaps

Sunday-July 5: 9.05 miles in 2:42:09 for a 17:55 minute per mile pace with a 139 foot elevation gain with a 113 bpm heart rate at 68 degrees and 98 percent humidity.
Monday- July 6: 9.05 miles in 2:30:43 for a 16:39 minute per mile pace with a 78 foot elevation gain with an average heart rate of 135 bpm at 71 degrees and 94 percent humidity.
Friday- July 17: 9.51 miles in 2:23:30 for a 15:05 minute per mile pace with a 329-foot elevation gain with an average pulse of 124 bpm at 66 degrees and 86 percent humidity.
Now to fill in a few gaps. The Sunday and Monday workouts completely wiped me out. I had zero energy in the workouts and even less after. Monday night my wife kissed me and said that I felt hot. I took my temp and it was over 103 degrees. I went directly to bed. The next day I went to CityMD and took a COVID test. The next 3 days I lived in bed and in pain. My temp never hot lower than 99.7. I had to take 2 extra strength Tylenol every 4 hours just to be able to handle the pain. I felt no improvement Tuesday through Thursday. On Friday my fever broke and I felt normal. I still had to wait for my test results. On Monday they came back negative. My doctor told me to have another test as she felt that I had the symptoms of the coronavirus. Thankfully, my results came back negative on Thursday. I’m not sure what I had, but I’m glad to be out of quarantine and feeling better. My wife was terrific through the whole thing. God bless her and God bless you!
