Surprise

I got up a little earlier hoping to get out earlier to work since the weather was bad and this storm was seeming to go bust as far as snow goes. I decided on the Ridge Road Loop. I like the quiet and isolation of this loop which mainly is surrounded by trees. Just before the turnaround I noticed that my pace was woefully slow, so I started running slowly. Just after mile 5 I heard a loud noise which was a runner who runs this route frequently. We passed each other and I continued on. Just after mile 8 I got a phone call from my school announcing that school was canceled— what a surprise as my daughter and stepson each had school. Today it payed to go to school further west. Here are the stats- 9.12 miles in 2:05:13 for a 13:43 minute per mile pace with an elevation gain of 217 feet with an average pulse of 120 bpm at a temp of 33 degrees at 99 percent humidity. Enjoying the quiet and slow pace. God Bless!
