Relaxed

I went into the morning feeling calm. I don’t always feel that way, but this morning I did. I felt rested as I fell asleep fairly early. I got out and around in good season. My pace wasn’t overly fast, but I got out early enough so that my getting ready wasn’t rushed. I was able to do my wall squats as a bonus. Memorial Day weekend Friday is usually a light traffic day, so my commute was easy and fast. I did the Medford/Randall/Woodlot Loop doing 9.17 in 2:15:56 for a 14:49 minute per mile pace with an average heart rate of 96 bpm with an elevation gain of 175 feet at 57 degrees and 64 percent humidity. It felt like fall. The skys we’re beautiful and the air was clear. It felt good to be alive. God bless you!

Reversing Fortunes

I got a decent start this morning, but slow moving put me behind early. I noticed at mile three that my pace was like 15:44 per mile. I didn’t feel slow, but I was. I added portions of jogging to bring my pace back closer to normal. My commute this morning was slow. It didn’t help that I missed a turn on my GPS which set me behind. I did the Longwood loop doing 9.16 miles in 2:14:50 for a 14:43 minute per mile pace with an average heart rate of 94 bpm with an elevation gain of 294 feet at 67 degrees and 93 percent humidity. I’m blessed!

Good Morning

I got out a bit earlier, although I still was a couple of minutes late to work. I did the Niewood version of the Longwood Loop doing .  Something weird happened with my watch. It cut out about 3/4 of a mile of my workout for no reason. It stopped and restarted. So I did some guestimates. I did 9 miles in approximately 2:15 for a 15:00 minute per mile pace with an average heart rate of 120 bpm with an elevation gain of 383 feet at 62 degrees and 89 percent humidity. Have a blessed day friend.

My wife found the Flex keys in an answer to prayer. God be praised!

Nice Spring Monday

I got off to a decent enough start, but I sputtered getting ready for work. Just slow with a few curve balls thrown at me. I did the 3 times Woodlot plus doing.9.35 miles in 2:15:44 for a 14:31 minute per mile pace with an average heart rate of 152 bpm with an elevation gain of 150 feet at 60 degrees and 60 percent humidity. Okay to Be Slow

I got out fairly early this morning, taking the pressure off my workout pace. I decided to do the Niewood version of the Longwood Loop. I did 9.08 in 2:16:57 for a 15:04 minute per mile pace with an average heart rate of 97 bpm with an elevation gain of 335 feet at 47 degrees and 91 percent humidity. I am tired this morning. I got 225 pounds stuck on my chest as I was too tired on the last rep to get it up. So, thankfully I got it up injury free. Even made it to work on time. Cheating on my intermittent fasting with a light and sweet coffee. That’s a doable cheat. God bless!

Better Late...

I started getting ready for my workout early and had great plans to get out early. BUT my stomach was not good and put me 10 minutes late. I decided to keep trudging along and let the chips fall where they may. I ended up getting back a little sooner than anticipated and made it out to my car at about the same time as yesterday. Thankfully, I made it to school on time and one minute earlier than yesterday. I did 3 x Woodlot plus a little extra for 9.30 miles in 2:13:24 for a 14:20 minute per mile pace with an average heart rate of 120 bpm with an elevation gain of 184 feet at 50 degrees and 86 percent humidity. Grateful!

A Blessing

My leg got bruised Monday night moving the 600 pound boiler out of the basement. I felt the bruise yesterday, especially at the end of the workout. Today I was skeptical of a finish of the workout. I did the 3x Woodlot Loop— this allows me an opt out if my leg is hurting. I pulled back a little on my effort and thankfully I made it through the workout at an okay pace. Leg is a little sore, but is better than yesterday. I did 9.01 miles in 2:12:4 for  a 14:40 minute per mile pace with an average heart rate of 118 bpm with an elevation gain of 182 feet at 58 degrees and 69 percent humidity. I’m blessed. Have a good day!

Monday/Tuesday

Both days I started ahead , but ended up a bit behind. Still I managed to clock in on time both days. Last night Jace and I had to move the 600 pound boiler up the stairs . The boiler ended up coming back onto my right quad. I did work out this morning, but my quad is now quite stiff. Lord willing it will loosen up.

Monday (Longwood)- 9.08 miles in 2:16:17 for a 15:00 minute per mile pace with an average heart rate of 105 bpm with an elevation gain of 311 feet at 50 and 81 percent humidity.

Tuesday (Randall/Ridge)- 9.29 miles in 2:17:38 for a 14:49 minute per mile pace with an average heart rate of 90 feet with an elevation gain of 184 degrees at 55 degrees and 73 percent humidity.

Have a most blessed day! Jesus is Lord!

Feeling Spry but Performing Otherwise

I headed out the door thinking that I was doing pretty good, but I quickly was reminded that I was not. I think the mowing the lawn took a little bit of starch out of my legs. I did the Woodlot, Ridge, and Randall Loop doing 9.01 miles in 2:12:49 for a 14:44 minute per mile pace with an average heart rate of 102 bpm with an elevation gain of 194 feet at 46 degrees and 69 percent humidity. Looking forward to a restful weekend. God bless!

I Get Ahead to Fall Behind

This week is the week of little disturbances. I have to put a couple of logs on the fire when I wake up. I have to put the cat out and the cat ended up getting caught up on stuff. I put out the wrong deposits. That said, I made amazing time on my commute. On my workout, I headed out on the late side of normal but I made good time working out. I did the Niewood version on the Longwood Loop doing 9.05 in 2:11:48 for a 14:33 minute per mile pace with an average heart rate of 96 bpm with an elevation gain of 326 feet at 47 degrees and 50 percent humidity. I’m grateful for the Lord’s many blessings!

Alone

I had a peaceful day yesterday, just feel like an outsider in my own house. Sometimes you take a stand and it is the right thing to do, but  the action alienates you from the non-blood members of your family. I was and am tired today. I did the Woodlot, Ridge, Randall figure 8 with some extras. I did 9.13 miles in 2:11:35 for a 14:24 minute per mile pace with an average heart rate of 127 bpm with an elevation gain of 201 feet at 45 degrees and 63 percent humidity. Tired but blessed! God bless you all!

The Week of Slow

I got out a bit later than usual. I was welcomed by my stepson’s shoe’s right in front of my door. He also backed into the house with his truck. Remembering Lenny

Charlotte was working early at WW so I decided to hit the Greenway Trail in Port Jefferson which goes to East Setauket. I often would come across my friend Lenny and his wife Ruth on the trail. It’s been nearly a year since I hiked on that trail. The last time I hiked it was at the hight of the pandemic. Things have changed a lot since then, with today feeling almost like the good ole days. Only one guy put his mask up when I passed. It’s nice that people are relaxing— probably due to receiving the vaccine. I did the full course with its excursions. I even picked up a nitro cold brew with sweet cream foam. The sweet foam was a little cheat since I’ve been doing the intermittent fasting. I needed a few calories and the two shots of especially. It was a beautiful, cool, breezy spring morning. I was reminded of my many blessings as I am as walking along. It’s so easy in the struggles and disappointments of life to forget the incredible blessings that God gives. God doesn’t reveal His full plan because He wants us to walk this life by faith. I did 9.69 miles in 2:46:35 for a 17:11 minute per mile pace with an average heart rate of 80 bpm with an elevation gain of 655 feet at 43 degrees and 59 percent humidity. Lord willing, Ericka and the girls are coming over this afternoon. Have a blessed day!
