Windy

I woke up earlier this morning, but remained nestled in bed until my alarm went off. The wind was howling all night long. I decided to do 3 x Woodlot for 9.20 miles in 2:19:06 for a 15:07 minute per mile pace with an average heart rate of 121 bpm with an elevation gain of 856 feet with an average cadence of 129 spm at 50 breezy degrees. I had a man riding on a bike ride towards me on Middle Country near the automotive body shop. This same person passed me again going the opposite direction. I then saw him by a fallen tree. He later passed me again. I saw no buses as Longwood was canceled today due to fallen trees. Have a blessed day!

Tired but Pleasant

I woke up and was very tired. I gulped down my coffee and then read my Bible— followed by prayer.  I was kind of foggy thinking, but still the morning workout routine felt pleasant. Thankfully it was warm and mild. This means less layers and less time getting ready. I did the Longwood loop. Thankfully my foot is feeling better and I am grateful to the Lord for this. I did 9.15 miles in 2:19:39 for a 15:15 minute per mile pace with an average heart rate of 130 bpm with an elevation gain of 350 feet with an average cadence of 128 spm at 43 degrees. Thankfully students are having a debate for student government so it has been an easier morning so far. Thank you Lord for your blessings and I am in need of your continuing help!

Cold Again

This was the second morning that the temp was in the mid teens when I woke up. This of course means more clothing and more time to get ready. Each workout takes some effort to complete. I always go through a point in my workout when I feel like going back home. Thankfully, I remind myself of the positive feeling when I complete the workout. I did the Medford/Randall Loop doing 9.18 miles in 2:15:03 for a 14:42 minute per mile pace with an average heart rate of 155 bpm with an elevation gain of 210 feet and an average cadence of 132 spm at 17 degrees. There are always minor injuries and obstacles to overcome— thank you Lord for giving me the strength. Have a blessed day!

Day After Super Bowl

I headed out the door and noticed that the roads were very icy. Fortunately, there was a spot on the side of Raynor where the plow had not smoothed over. This area provided good traction all the way to Middle County. I went slightly beyond the 1 mile mark on Middle County and then turned back towards home. I did this out and back 3 times and then did some out and backs on Route 25. All this keeping in mind 9 miles. The workout went better than I did expected. On my final turn off Middle Country onto Raynor I talked briefly to a trucker who was picking up some fencing. He told me that he was from Quebec and was surprised that we had snow down here. I told him I was from Maine. When I mentioned Eastport, he expressed his familiarity with that region of Maine. Here are the stats: 9.11 miles in 2:24:30 for a 15:52 minute per mile pace with an average heart rate of 88 bpm with an elevation gain of 244 feet with an average cadence of 125 spm at 21 degrees. It’s nice to see the daylight increasing. Have a blessed day!

Randall/Woodlot

This has been a trying time in many ways and I know that these are trying times. School has been a minefield with unruly, undisciplined students causing teachers and all school workers problems. Mainly the people causing the problems are blaming the teachers. On top of this my right big toe and tarsals have been a little tender. I’ve been able to keep going, but I have taken some precautions to keep the problem from escalating into a major injury. I did the Woodlot/Randall Loop doing 9.02 miles in 2:10:55 for a 14:31 minute per mile pace with an average heart rate of 152 bpm with an elevation gain of 248 feet with an average cadence of of  132 spm at 35 degrees. I’m grateful for getting the work in. Thank you Lord!

Monday/February

Started the week ending January and beginning February on Tuesday. I did 9.21 miles in 2:21:03 for the Medford/Randall Loop for 15:19 minute per mile pace with an average heart rate of 165 bpm with an elevation gain of 216 feet with an average cadence of 130 spm at 18 degrees.
