Today we took a trip to Tallin, Estonia. First, I did my usual walk along the shore of Helsinki. I did 6.12 miles and 4 x 25 push-ups. I am definitely feeling the fatigue , but I anticipate I may have a day off or two. Tomorrow Char and I head to Lapland via an 8 hour train ride. These are the adventures that we have been blessed to share. Today we made some good friends on our tour. I just pray that the Lord uses these interactions to His glory. Thank you Lord for this wonderful trip!

Plugging Along
I basically know that the Monday that I arrive in Helsinki will be an off walk day. I am going to attempt to keep walking and working out, but you never quite know. This vacation will be a vacation on the move, so I should keep in pretty decent shape. This trip is basically a dream coming true with the help of the Lord. I pray that the Lord will use this trip for his glory. This is visiting the land that makes up the largest percentage of pure blood. My grandfather was a full blooded Finn, and I have always been curious about this part of my genealogy. There are not a lot of Finnish people around and they have a distinct genetic makeup. I guess in a way, I am trying to discover if I share any characteristics of the Finns. Do I act Finnish? Do I look Finnish? Just curious. I did the reverse Longwood Loop , the fab 40, 3 x GP bench presses, hex bar deadlifts, and hope to do a set of weighted bench presses. Just doing some projects around the house, and a little more packing and prep for tomorrow. I’m simultaneously going to excited and nervous. This will be my longest trip away. My God made this world and I am grateful for this opportunity. As always, I am in prayer for my family back home.

Longwood/Woodlot/Raynor
I decided to do a different combination of my standard Longwood Loop. The route ended up being a little longer than I have been doing. I really can’t wait to go to Finland and back to work. But what I have learned in life, is that each season plays its part and shouldn’t be rushed. I did 8.01 miles and 3 x GP curls/presses. I hope to do a set of core trainer presses and rows and goblet squats later. Looking forward to this weekend.

A Little Different
I decided to change from alternating between Longwood and Reverse Longwood. I did Medford/Randall, Ryan for 7.2 miles, the fab 40, 3 x GP bench presses, and I hope to do a hex bar deadlift and a weighted bench presses. I am happy with what I have been able to achieve this summer. I am ready to go back to work. The break is good and I do enjoy it. My purpose is largely found in my work at RCA. A heart for children and fitness are two things that are a part of my makeup. I need the time in the summer to recharge. Ever since I have recovered from my knee replacement, I have had a new surge of energy. I plan on using this energy to serve the Lord. I’m grateful to serve my King!

Tuesday/Wednesday
Tuesday: I did the Longwood Loop in reverse for 7.2 miles. I also did 3 x GP bench presses and a hex bar deadlift.
Wednesday: I did the Longwood Loop for 7.2 miles, 3 x GP curls/presses, goblet squats, and hope to do a set of core trainer presses/rows.
I am distracting myself by micro-shopping for school and the trip, projects, relationships, training, reading, and TV. I have committed a lot of prayer to each day, my family, church, the trip, etc. Without prayer, I am powerless!

Monday not a Funday
I got out a bit past 5 so that I could get Ericka to her drivers test. Ericka’s nerves got the best of her, and she broke down afterwards. My wife is discouraged because she will still have to take Ericka to work. Me— I hate to see two discouraged people. I did the Longwood loop for 7.04 miles, the fab 40, 3 x GP curls/presses, goblet squats, and 1 x core trainer presses/rows. I hope to start getting prepared for the trip to Finland- Lord willing.

Sunday Interrupted
I got a nice early start with good plans. It was another warm morning, but not as humid. Things were going really well, when after mile 3 1/2 I received a phone call. I had to reverse direction and head back to the house. My father in laws nurse didn’t show up so I had to go to his house to watch her. I ended up doing 5.03 miles. I took the GP resistance machine and did 3 sets of bench presses. I hope to do 4 x farmers walk and one set of weighted bench presses. I may not reach my activity goal today. We’ll see. God bless you my friend!

Saturday Head Start
I woke up fairly early despite a later bed time. My motto is to just go with it. My wife is not exactly a snuggler or a morning dream sharer, so I decided to hit the early morning weekend roads of central eastern Long Island. I did the fab 40 and 1 x core trainer presses/rows and will finish either with bands or weights, and goblet squats. I am really just preparing for Finland and back to school, Lord willing. I don’t seem to be big on ideas or words at the moment. When I feel the time is right, I will try to share my thoughts. God bless you my friend.

Fry-Day
The humidity combined with the heat has been brutal. I slept in as I was awake with my wife earlier and fell back asleep. I ended up doing the Longwood Loop in reverse for 7.32 miles, the fab , 40, 3 x GP bench press and hope to do hex bar deadlift and one set of weighted bench press. This heat is kicking my butt. I don’t do well in this heat. I’m feeling a bit off physically. Enjoying a bit of down time. Have a blessed day!

The Day After
I had a meltdown yesterday. Just too much social, and too many people in my space. No matter how I try to strategize, I just fail. Better to just stay home when I have had enough. Today is a better day. I did the Longwood Loop and then mowed the lawn before it got too hot. So I did 7.16 miles and hope to do the GP curls/presses later, maybe the fab 40, goblet squats, and 1 x core trainer presses/rows. It’s a nice breeze so far. I enjoying a bit of piece and quiet. Not coming out with many deep thoughts. Have a blessed day!

Mostly Dry, but My oh my!
I headed out early looking to beat the rain. I was as awake for a few minutes at times during the night. I just kind of go with the flow and don’t sweat the details. I like routine, but the grind of work is wearing on the mind and body. On the other hand, work brings purpose. Purpose gives life meaning and makes it worth living. So I just try to see the function of the time period that I am in. I did 7.25 miles, 2 x GP bench presses, 2 x weighted bench presses, 2 x weighted bench presses, and 1 x hex bar deadlifts and shrugs. I am blessed to have this time in the summers. Thank you Lord!

Aug. 1 & Aug. 2
The summer glides along at its steady pace. It’s not fast, but the pace is consistent and never slows down. I decided to go for a walk Saturday night after I watched Gill. Char was at the mission team’s yearly supper. I also did a walk before church on Sunday. I did 6.73 on Saturday and 7.57 on Sunday. I have been busy, but the strength work is getting done. Have a most blessed day!!
