Bright and Early

I woke up to my alarm this morning and quickly went into my morning routine. I just had the feeling that I had to get things moving. It was a breezy dark morning with showers in the forecast. This is always a bit of an awkward time for me, as I am anticipating the different routines of the summer. The summer involves a lot of socializing, visits, hosting , and odd jobs.  This morning I could hear a quiet voice telling me to relax and not to worry. I did the Randall Route for 6.85 miles, the fab 40, 3 x GP bench presses , and 1 set of farmers walks in the gym. I will try to do two other sets of farmers walks, 1 set of hex bar deadlifts, and 1 set of weighted bench presses— Lord willing. Looking forward to our Juneteenth celebration today. God bless you!

No Need for Alarm

Last night I fell asleep in about one minute of my head hitting the pillow. I woke up after a dream and was surprised to see that the time was about 8 minutes past my alarm. I then remembered that I didn’t set my alarm the night before. I quickly went into my morning routine and was back quickly on schedule. I decided to do the Longwood Loop in revers for  6.61 miles, the fab 40, and 3 x GP curls/presses. I hope to do a set of core trainer presses/rows and goblet squats tonight. Things worked out pretty well including getting the last parking spot. Have a blessed day!

Counting Down

I only have one more Monday before summer break. I truly enjoy the 7 weeks of not doing the daily grind to get to work. This year has been a good one though. The cycle that you experience in teaching is welcome. I’ve learned better to enjoy each time of the school year and each season of the year. The fact that there is change helps you to keep from getting bored. It’s a time to enjoy what is good about the season and time that you are experiencing. The summer offers me a chance to get some things done at home and a chance for different experiences. I try to use this time to spend with my family, especially family in Maine. Today, I did the 8 x Raynor Hill workout for the first time in awhile. I did 6.45 miles, the fab 40, and 3 x GP curls/presses. I hope to do a set of core trainer presses/curls and a set of Goblet squats.Even though there is no rhythm to life right now, it seems like things are going fairly well. Have a blessed day friends!

Sunday Blessings

This school year has been a good one. I will actually be sad to see it end. The Lord has blessed this year for me. From the beginning going into the year off from knee replacement surgery to now it has been a blessed year. The children and staff have filled each work day with a sense of team and purpose of delivering for our students. I have been blessed to be able to train. The surgery has been a success and has been quite helpful. Even with those blessings, I know that my wife is sad because of the decline in my mother in-law. Her Alzheimer’s has progressed to a point where she does not say much. Her condition has turned my wife into a primary care giver. Between my wife and her caregiving and her increased load of duties, I see my wife less and when she is with me she is usually exhausted. The Lord is using her in a mighty way. She is amazing. I did 7.16 miles, the fab 50, weighted bench press, 2 x GP bench press, 1 x hex deadlift and shrugs, and the fab 40. There may be more happening. Have a blessed day! Pretty tired now.

Saturday Surprise

We have company again, as our IT church guy is staying with us for two nights. Char was very tired and I was awake in good season. I decided to try to get a walk in. The forecast was for a hot day, but it ended up being beautiful and comfortable. I have been dealing with foot fatigue on the mid outside of my left foot. I stopped once during my workout to try to make my shoe a bit tighter and adjusted my insole. My adjustment helped a bit. When I got home I decided to mow my lawn as it was a beautiful day. After I mowed and trimmed, I felt fairly worn out and tired. I have done some folding of clothes and watched TV. I did 7.13 miles , the fab 40, 2 x core trainer press/rows, 2 x curls/pressesGP, and goblet squats.

Meek Monday

I woke up a little hesitant. I think it has to do with fatigue and the expectation of the coming week. Some days you wake up with confidence and other days you are less secure. I did 2 x Woodlot with a total of 7 x up Woodlot hill for 6.51 miles. I also did the fabulous 30 and 3 x GP curls/presses. I hope to do goblet squats and core trainer press/rows. I’m going to leave it at that today. Just going to try to check the boxes off of the day. God bless you Richland you trust Him!
