Early Going

I woke up very early. I decided to enjoy the peace and quiet of the early morning. I waited for the right moment of inspiration, to get out and ready myself for the morning workout. I did the Longwood loop in reverse, even doing an extra out and back for 7.61 miles, the fab 40, 3 x GP curls/presses, the goblet squat, and on set of core trainer presses/rows. Ad usual, I get sleepy at around this time. God bless you all!

Beat the Rain

An early start is good in many ways. This morning it allowed me to safely get through the workout before the rain hit. I was looking forward to that quiet time on the road before the business of the day takes over. I have taken advantage of being able to take my time and not being hurried. I did the Longwood loop doing Scenic Hills and finishing by DD. I did 7.32 miles, the fab 40, 3 x GP bench , 2 x deadlifts. It did what I had to.

Soaking Wet Wednesday

I headed out in the wettest part of the day, since the rain ended just after my workout. I put on my raincoat and stepped by faith into the rain. I decided to do 9 x Raynor Hill for 6.84 miles. My pace wasn’t fast, but I managed to get out there. I have been feeling a bit off mentally— but it has been a productive summer. I am grateful for how the Lord has abundantly met my needs. Thank you Lord!

Tuesday: Early Start

I got out at around 5:15. I wanted to get out plenty early before I got together with Rebekah for another walk around Port Jefferson.  I saw Old Jim from church. He told me that this was a good place for a hangout . I did the reverse Longwood loop for 7:91. I plan to do bench presses and deadlifts later. Tired, laying low! Low!

Sunday/Renew Mondays/Flexibility

Sunday— I got out in good season doing the Wading River hollow Double Dip and Woodlot/Ridge for 7.4 miles, the fab 40, 3 x GP bench press, goblet squats, on Monday I did, 8.43 miles, and hope to do 2 x core trainer press/rows and 1 x GP press/ curls,  and goblet squats. I am feeling a bit out of sorts, although it has been a productive time. Doing various chores and the sort without being pushed too much. I have been feeling drawn by an invisible hand. I want to be productive and relaxed. So far so good. I need these summers to reload for the school year. These meds are making me feel quite overheated this summer. It has me being more cautious if I start sweating heavily outside. Have a blessed day!

Saturday Reprieve

I started the day out well watching Father Brown with Char. It was a laid back start to the day. As soon as we got out of bed and the work began, the irritation began. Char and I were like the two old men on the Muppet Show bickering pack and forth as we put all the deck furniture back on the deck after my paint job on both outside decks. Neither one of us could seem to get things worked out. Eventually Char went inside while I continued putting the bigger items on the deck. I could have used Charlotte’s help, but it was not worth the aggravation. Thankfully, Char had to go to the church to work out the snow machine with Jace. I used that time to get a Flat White and coffee cake at Rebekah’s Starbucks. I then went back home and did the Woodlot Loop with 6 x Woodlot Hill and 1 x Ridge/Kastal with 1 x Ryan Hill for 6.69 miles. My pace was slower. It seemed good just to get away from people. Right now I am inside trying to keep out of the way of Violet’s birthday party. Hopefully, tomorrow will be a better day. I have learned that it’s alright to step away in certain situations. Life has a way of presenting you with unique situations. I will expound on this more in the future. Have a blessed day!

I knew that I had to be ready by 7:30 to meet Charlotte after she dropped her car off for maintenance out east. I did manage to get back in plenty of time. I did 7.23 miles, the fabulous 40, and 3 x GP bench presses. I hope to do 2 x hex bar shrugs, and weighted bench presses. I now have a quiet few minutes. I’m grate for quiet time. God bless you!

Reversing Longwood Before the Rain

I changed plans to walk with my daughter Rebekah after my normal workout. I did 7.16 miles, the fab 40, 2 x core trainer rows/presses , 2 x GP curls/presses, and goblet squats. I also took my daughter Ericka to get two teeth filled. It’s turned muggy now. This week is productive, but lacks rhythm. God bless you my friend!

Easy Going on a Comfortable Summer Morning

I woke up just enjoying the fact that I can take my time in the summer. I can be more methodical and deliberate. I realize the summer is just a season, but in the whole scheme of things, it serves a purpose. I can save up my energy for the school year and my job. I visited Bekah at work and had a little treat. I did 7.01 miles doing the front way version of my route. I hope to do 3 x weighted bench presses, the fab 40, 3 x the farmers walk, hex bar deadlift and shrugs. I hope to get all the work in. Grateful for the opportunities of the summer!

Reversing Longwood

It is nice getting back into the habit of the morning walk after a day off. Sometimes I take a day off and sometimes I don’t. Either way , there is a benefit to either course of action. I did 7.05 miles. It was a comfortable morning at a not humid 71 breezy degrees. I did the fab 40 and 3 x GP curls/presses. I hope to do goblet squats, a set of core trainer presses/rows, and some backstep lunges. I am grateful for the training, enough but not too much!

Thursday/Friday: Busy in the Smoke

Our weather has been affected by forest fires in Canada. There is a stench in the air that smells like the old dumps that existed before landfills. I did the Longwood Scenic Hills loop on Thursday doing 7.18 miles, the fab 40, 3 x farmers walk, weighted bench press, and hex bar deadlift/shrugs. On Friday I did GP bench presses, weighted bench presses, goblet squats, the fab 40, and 7.07 miles doing Longwood in reverse. Today I am having an easy day inside from the rain with Char.

Wednesday Back to the Monday Route Fown Red Maple

I did 7.12 miles headed in the opposite direction and coming home from Wading River Hollow Road. I did the fab 40, and 1 x core trainer presses and rows, and hope to do more, including goblet squats. I am trying to keep things consistent, enjoyable, and doable. Today is hot, so I am trying not to do much as I do not do well in the heat. Thank you Lord for

Helping me!

Monday Back in Ridge

It seemed like awhile since I was on the roads of east central Long Island. It was only two weeks, but so much happened in those two weeks. One week ago it was the streets of Hope followed by a trip to Greenville with my parents. Today it was an early trip around the Longwood Loop reversed going down Red Maple Drive. I did see another walker and a jogger on Wading River Hollow Road. I took the time to workout and pray. The mornings at camp were quiet and peaceful just before the counselor devotions. Today, it was the comfort of routine at home that was soothing. It’s funny how this busy place has become my home. It is not as busy as my work in Roosevelt. Where the Lord places you you will experience peace. I did 7.01 miles and hope to do my core trainer presses/rows, the fab 40, and goblet squats.

Sunday Changes

I was planning on doing the Longwood Loop finishing past DD in Ridge. At around the halfway point I received a phone call from Char. Apparently, my mother in law’s aid didn’t show up to take care of her. So I had to streamline my workout and try to get back as soon as I could. I stayed on the Smith Road and headed home for exactly 6.2 miles. Laura from church stayed with Gill until I arrived. I was able to do the fab 40, weighted bench press, 1 set of hex deadlifts with shrugs, and 3 x GP bench presses at my in-laws. I ordered a few things online for the summer and Finland. We are headed to the Mets/Red Sox game today. I am glad to be home and in my routines. I seem to function the best that way. Thankful for little blessings.
