I woke up and realized that Charlotte had been awake for some time. I was excited with the hope of traveling to Eastport on the agenda. I did the Longwood Loop going past Dunkin Donut’s. I did 6.33 miles, the fabulous 40, and 3 x GP curls/presses. The road was mostly clear, but the snow and ice are not fully melted yet. I was pleased that I was able to pack compactly and yet bring what I wanted. Char and I enjoyed a moment of prayer together as we parted ways. I am blogging on the Port Jefferson ferry on very rough waters which has slowed our speed. I’m feeling that the Lord has a lan for this trip. I always enjoy my trips to my old and forever home, but yet where the Lord has me is the best place for me.

Sunday/Monday Ridge Walker
Sunday: I had a change of workout when my daughter Rebekah called me, asking me if I could pick up her gifts for Maine. My mom also texted me to notify me of my father getting the flu. This changed my plans for my Maine trip. My plan, Lord willing is to leave on Tuesday yo Eastport and head home from Hope on Friday. My Sunday workout was the Woodlot Loop with 7 x Woodlot hill for 3.61 miles, total of 20 minutes on the exercise bike, the fab 40, 2 x Core Trainer press/row, 2 x GP curl/press.
Monday- I did the Randall Loop with 3 x Ryan Avenue for 7.15 miles, the fab 40, and 3 x GP bench presses. It is annoying after snow, because there are no sidewalks to go on so that you continually are dodging traffic. The weather is warm but foggy and drizzly. I’m both grateful for a slower day and anxious to get yo Maine. I’m grateful for so many opportunities to go to Maine. God bless you all. I know this blog lacks content, but it has consistency. Off to get some stuff done.

The Walk Before the Storm
I woke up early, but I took my sweet time getting around for my morning walk and workout. After a hectic day yesterday today started out much slower and peaceful. I did the same loop as yesterday with the addition of two more Ryan Avenue out and backs for a total of 7.06 miles, the fabulous 40, 2 sets of core trainer presses/bent rows, and one set of GP curls/presses. I will be doing some packing for my trip to Maine. Leaving is always a bit of an adjustment, although a pleasant one. I just remind myself that the Lord is with me wherever I go. God bless you!

Christmas Morning Walk
I woke up early and decided to keep going and head out the door. I did the Randall Loop with one time up and back Ryan Avenue for 6.63 miles, the fab 40, 2 x GP bench presses, and one set of weight bench presses. It was a very quiet Christmas morning. Snow is in the forecast and could affect our holiday plans. More later. Merry Christmas!

Not Feeling the Same
I woke up a little later and was grateful that I didn’t have to do the usual morning rush. It was nice to have sunlight as part of the equation. I didn’t the Longwood Loop but went all the way down by drifters for 7.02 miles, the fab 40, 3 x GP curls/presses. I saw a lady on Longwood walking her two dogs. A different start time means that you run into different people. Now back to my title. My wife is a tremendous hostess and loves going all out for guests. She thrives with big groups while I long for more small group interaction. Opposites complement each other. Charlotte’s strengths challenge me and make me better. I don’t always handle things well, but I do try. Right now I’m closing out. Have a blessed day!

Tuesday
I have been wanting to blog a bit longer and more in depth, but I have had pressing other matters seemingly on a regular basis. I have just been trying to get through my checklist without much introspection. I have wanted to have a bit more introspection during this Christmas season, but it seems that there is always something to divert my attention. I have been getting up earlier and getting out later, but thankfully traffic has been light so that I have made it to work in plenty of time. Today despite my best efforts I got out on the late side of normal. Everything I do is kind of in slow motion. Today I had hoped to do the Randall Loop but settled on 2 x Woodlot with a short out and back for 6.37 miles, the fab 30, and 3 x GP bench presses. My wife is always amping up during the holidays and I’m powering down. Somehow we both get through. Praying for a healthy break!

Before the Rain
This morning I had really no set plan to run a specific route. If I got out early, I might attempt a longer version of my routes. So this morning I did the Longwood loop going past Dunkin Donuts. I did 6.40 miles, the fabulous 40, and 3 sets of 15-20 reps of Gym Proloux bench presses. The workouts have been just about right. Thankful that it is Friday. Kinda nd of sleepy now.

Back to The Woodlot
I got into the kitchen and out the door in plenty of time today. Despite that, I still decided to do the 2 x Woodlot route for 6.19 miles. I saw a lot of deer roaming about. Despite the early start, a couple of pit stops brought me back at a usual time in the morning. I also did 2 super sets of core bar presses/bent rows, and 1 set of GP curls and presses., and the fab 40. Thank you Lord for progress!

Lack of Focus
I feel a slight lack of focus at this time mainly due to busyness. Despite the lack of focus, I do feel positive and a sense of accomplishment. By cutting back in certain areas of my workouts, I have greater flexibility in time. I am doing enough to get bye, and that is good enough. I did the Randall Loop this morning for 6.34 miles, the fabulous forty, and 3 x GP bench presses. Just getting by, but thank you Lord for your strength and goodness!

Playing from Behind
I have been on time by trying to be ahead of time even though I am running behind. I am just moving in slow motion d spite my best intentions. I am tired and slow. Thankfully, I have been able to keep pace simply due to getting up 5 minutes earlier. I did 2 x Raynor/Kastal/Ridge for 6.44 miles, th fab 40, and 3 x GP curls/presses. I made it to work on time. Still a bit tired. Have a blessed day!

Adjustments in the Plan
The roads were icy in places. I started out on the 3 miles loop, but Woodlot was glare ice. After going on it once, I figured that was enough. I looped back around and did 3 x Raynor Hill and back for 6.07 miles, the fab 40 , and 2 x 20 reps on the GP bench press. I made it to work on time, and considered today a bonus and a blessing. I will be satisfied just to close my rings today. Faith is sometimes starting a workout, when you have no idea how or if things will turn out alright. Have a blessed day!

New Twist to an Old Route
I like predictability, but I also need change. My morning routine requires a basic knowing of distance and time. Today, I tried a slightly different version of my Longwood Loop finishing up Giant Oak Road heading past Dunkin Donuts and then home for 6.38 miles, the fabulous 40, and 2 sets of GP bench presses. I’m impressed that the Gym Proloux device has helped me maintain strength and muscle size and it is so convenient. I was reminded of how special that early morning time is. The quietness and beauty of the morning are advantageous for prayer and reflection. Have a blessed day my friends. I apologize for not writing more at this time, but I just don’t have it. God bless you!

Keeping Up from Behind
I have been able to keep up with my daily routine despite always lagging a little behind. I wish that I could get out of my own way, but it seems impossible. Today I did 2 x Raynor/Woodlot for 6.15 miles, the fabulous 40, and 3 x GP Curls/Presses. I am keeping up while feeling behind the 8 ball. Thank you Lord! Have a blessed Wednesday.

No Flow just go
I have mentally been feeling kind of alone. This summer time when I was rehabbing my knee, I spent most of my days Ali e. My wife was taking on our family social life by herself and I was trying to recover by basically being alone with some every now and then help. Now I find myself kind of doing my own thing while my wife does the same. Today I did the Kastal, Ridge, Raynor, Woodlot figure eight for 6.23 miles, the fabulous 40, and 3 sets of GP bench presses. I felt like I was just a little bit behind schedule and off. Praying for the Lord to bless and use me and my family this year.

Making it Manageable
The next two weeks my plan is to cut back a little bit on the distance in order to make my workouts less stressful. Today I did 2 x Woodlot for 6.06 miles, the fabulous 40, and 3 x GP curls/presses. I made it to work in plenty of time. My cold is definitely getting better. I will have to keep my rest and sleep up. I’m looking forward to the Army/Navy game— Lord willing. I have physical therapy tonight. God bless you my friends.

Feeling the Season
I started to feel a bit more the effects of my cold. In the morning and at night is when I feel it the most. The mucus sticks in the back of the throat and my nose runs. Overall, I am okay, but a little tired and a little off. I definitely need an easy restful weekend. I have been dealing with my oldest daughter’s emotional struggles as she is confronted with the reality of the end of her tumultuous relationship with her ex-boyfriend. I guess as bad as things were, she had hoped for reconciliation. I’m praying for this situation and wisdom. This morning I did 2 x Woodlot plus an out and back for 6.20 miles, I did the fabulous 40, 1 set of weight bench presses, and 2 sets of GP bench presses. I don’t like it when I am feeling a bit off. I don’t do so well with it. It’s definitely not a full blown sickness PTL! Have a blessed day!

On Fumes
Yesterday was a long and tiring day. I did my workout, physical therapy, and Bible study. This morning I woke up in good season, but I definitely was not at my peak. I have a mild runny nose which makes me a bit tired. I also found out today that I can go to the Army/ Navy Game next Saturday. This is exciting, but it will be demanding. This morning I did the Kastal, Ridge, Raynor, and Woodlot loop for 6.29 miles, the fabulous forty, and 3 x GP curls and presses. I’m grateful for the workouts, but I am a bit tired. I must persevere! God bless my friends!

Back at It
I was back out at the really early hour again this morning. It’s the time of day when you feel like you own the streets. I did 2 x Woodlot plus 2 extra hill walks for 6.30 miles, the fabulous 40, 3 x Gym Proloux bench presses. I made it to work in time. I am grateful for the everyday blessing.

Visit the Doctor…
…means a later start for my workout. As a teacher I am afforded regular breaks in my routine, which I find helpful in recharging my batteries. Through the changes in my routine due to my knee replacement, I have cut back on my mileage to 10 k and I have cut back on the intensity. The result is more energy and enthusiasm for my daily tasks. I still get the same number on my watch rings. I did the Longwood loop with an up and down on a side hill and I went by the high school and past the post office for 7.02 miles, the fabulous 40, and 3 super sets of curls and presses on the Gym Proloux. I may try to do a set of core training presses before my doctor’s appointment. I’m watching Father Brown at the moment. Have a blessed day friends!

Sunday/Monday in Ridge
Ridge has been my home for nearly 16 years. It is kind of country living by Long Island Standards. I have woods out behind my house and plenty of woods and walking trails to go on. It’s a good base to work from. Yesterday, I did the Randall loop for 6.28 miles, the fabulous 40, 2 x GP curls/presses, 1 super set of core trainer presses and dumbbell curls.
Monday- I did 2 x Woodlot/Raynor with a short out and back for 6.23 miles, the fabulous 40, 2 x GP bench presses, 1 set of weight bench presses.I have PT tonight and a doctor’s appointments tomorrow. Just trying to operate the best that I can. Have a blessed day good friend!
